Pattern of Growth
My work concentrates on finding traces - of humanity, activity, machinery, nature, weather, amongst other things - expressed as layers of history in the built environment around us. My photographs document these traces as evidence of what has passed before, in ways that we can relate to now. The piece I would like to submit is a series of photographs of the former Bath Press building on the Lower Bristol Road in bath. It is now demolished, but before it was, I was allowed in to take some last photographs of the spaces inside including the old ballroom and herringbone floors still imprinted with the footprints of machinery that once stood there. I would love to share these images and the stories they tell with the public in Bath at the Fringe festival in 2021.
