About the Bath Photography Festival
The Bath Photography Festival started in 2018. Founded as a research project questioning how we view and consume photographic imagery in a digital world. Real/Unreal was the first curated festival, with work exhibited in three venues in or near the Kingsmead Square area of Bath. Each location displayed multiple works from twenty artists. The event ran in association with the Fringe Arts Bath (FaB) annual festival.
The Bath Photography Festival aims to promote and encourage creative photography. The city has a rich photographic heritage and was home to The Royal Photographic Society (RPS) from 2000 to early 2019. Nearby, the famous Fox Talbot Museum is only fifteen miles away at Lacock Abbey.
Developing the Festival events
On behalf of FaB and the Bath Photography Festival, we thank everyone who submitted entries to the exhibition call-outs. Further, thanks go to the various festival sponsors (Leica Cameras, Manfrotto, The RPS, VisableDust, PhotoBath) and exhibition venues (Boston Tea Party, Society Café, Green Park Brasserie, 44AD ArtSpace).
Without you, this project would not have happened. We have planted the seed and started a project that we hope will grow.
